i'm going to try to step up the fruits and vegetables this week, since i felt kind of unhealthy last week. we'll see how that goes.
my dad and i have had a lovely time together (he's been here since friday...did i mention that?) and i'm grateful that today is so beautiful because we got to spend some time outside. plus i need to go on a horrendously long run, which is why i'm wishing i could just zap some calories into my body because i don't particularly feel like eating.

exercise
so, i kept my heart rate right around 148 for the entirety of my long run...and cheated and did a little extra because i felt my pride was being wounded. i had to slow down, like, wayy down, to hit the right heart rate, which means that it took me FOREVER to run 8.1 miles. as in, 1:32:34. as in 5.3 mph. as in, slower than i've run in about 22 years. (exaggerating.)
anyway, i stuck to it, even though i ran 92 minutes instead of 80, and i ended up with a heart rate average of exactly 148, which i worked hard for. so, i guess that turned out well and was a victory even though it sort of feels like a failure. sigh.
8.1 miles, 92 minutes, 148 bpm: 972c
net: 758c. that's way too low, but i'm sick of eating, and really can't even think about consuming any more anything tonight. so, sorry, body. please don't go into starvation mode. <3 you.
gratitude practice
the beautiful weather today
how easy it is to run when your heart rate is so slow
chocolate milk for its amazing calories and easy consumption (wish more foods did that)
